About
Welcome to **The Back Room**, a hidden gem nestled at 148 Old Park Lane, London. If you’re seeking a unique dining experience that melds history with culinary delight, this is the place to be. Imagine stepping into a space rich with the echoes of rock legends—original carvings and memorabilia adorn the walls, telling stories of the past. The atmosphere here is a delightful blend of punk and nostalgia, making it a distinctive retreat from the bustling Hard Rock Cafe just around the corner.
The menu at The Back Room may be a curated selection, but it’s anything but limited in flavor and satisfaction. Start your meal with the **Steak Salad**, where grilled steak rests over a bed of fresh mixed greens, harmoniously tossed in a blue cheese vinaigrette, topped with crispy shoestring onions and delectable blue cheese crumbles. For those who appreciate classics, the **Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad** features tender chicken breast paired with crisp romaine and classic Caesar dressing, elevated by crunchy croutons and shaved Parmesan crisps.
As you savor your meal, indulge in one of the delightful desserts. The **New York Cheesecake** is a standout, offering rich creaminess coupled with fresh strawberry sauce and whipped cream—pure bliss for any sweet tooth. The **Homemade Apple Cobbler**, with warm, golden-brown Granny Smith apples and vanilla bean ice cream, is a comforting taste of nostalgia.
But The Back Room isn’t just about food; it’s about the entire experience. Patrons rave about the welcoming atmosphere, where friendly bartenders share tales of the venue's storied past. Whether you're out for a laid-back meal with family or a quick bite before heading to an event, you'll find that the service here is prompt and courteous, ensuring that your experience is both enjoyable and memorable.
So if your taste buds are craving something comforting and your heart longs for a touch of rock history, step into The Back Room. It’s a place where delicious dishes, a relaxed vibe, and rock ‘n roll history converge, leaving you with a sense of satisfaction and a story to tell. Don’t miss out on this enchanting spot the next time you find yourself in London!
“ so glad I came here! this is the original hard Rock Cafe, not the main building you see. in this backroom bar, you can see original carvings on the bars and tables from the likes of AC/DC and others, in addition to the random scribbles on the wall from those who have passed through. because it was an old church, there's a really unique atmosphere and has that punk/hard rock feel to it. there is a good drink menu with cocktails, beers and soft drinks. there is a small food selection, mostly appetizers and such, but they are still delicious and well prepared. The service was amazing! The bartender even shared some of history of the bar itself. you can definitely go to the more polished hard Rock Cafe restaurant, however, the back room is where I would absolutely suggest you go if you want to experience it!! ”
“ Wanted to grab a quick bite and drink with family before running back to our hotel room to watch the Olympics opening ceremony. Found this near the new Hardrock Cafe, just down the street from our hotel. Unlike the main Hardrock Cafe which had no tables available on a Friday night (only booking/reservations), The Back Room had a couple open tables and no wait. Popped in and ordered some food and drinks. Service was good. Food came out quick and was satisfying. We were able to watch the beginning ceremonies on the TV while we ate. Then got on our way. Totally satisfied. If you need a quick bite and or drink, this place solves problems and still costs less than the hotel bar/restaurant and has 1000x more charm. CHEERS! ”
“ Was in town and love the Hard Rock Cafe had a tour of the vault from the nice bloke in there (28th June) then found this little place hidden round the corner. Lovely spot it was just me in for a while as it was a Tuesday at 1 like. The bar tender Dan was a class bloke was really nice speaking to him and the GM who was also in for a bit. I’ll be coming in with the family if we’re down in London anytime soon. ”
“ Came here craving a Bloody Mary and to my surprise the bartender was already making it as I came in! He was happy to make me drinks off the menu, as it was not busy on Sunday afternoon, everything was great. Thank you Callem, I’ll make sure to visit again next time I’m in town. ”
“ The back room is pretty much a very mini version of the Hard Rock Cafe. it seems they share the same kitchen, but the menu is a slim down version of the hard rock. It’s a much more relaxed atmosphere which is a couple tables. They even have boardgames so pretty family friendly. The service was top-notch drinks and food. Very quick to arrive. ”
“ a really nice place, and was good break from where i came from (level ! if you are intrested) and there were no entitys, so overall i rate level 6.1 five stars PS: if you want to escape the level, stand in a toliet and then flush yourself out of the level to go to level 24 ”
“ This is an amazing little bar. Love the drinks, the service, the music and the food. Keep an eye out for their live music evenings. ”
“ Very cool place. Owned by Hard Rock but is doesn't feel like it. Way better service, smaller and drinks are perfection. Food was very good and light. Atmosphere makes you want to hang out. ”
